                       ILOG TALK DOCUMENTATION
                       =======================

This directory contains the full set of ILOG Talk documentation in DVI
and Postscript format. It has the following files:

* white-paper.dvi is a short technical description of ILOG Talk.
* part1.dvi is the "ILOG Talk Overview".
* part2.dvi is the "Language Reference Manual".
* part3.dvi is the "Environment Reference Manual".
* refcard.ps is a quick reference card for the Emacs talk-mode.
                    This file is in PostScript.
* config.unix.dvi is the installation notice for Unix.
* config.win32.dvi is the installation notice for Windows.

* mantalk is a Unix command to get online manual. Calling
"mantalk 'entity'" opens an xdvi at the manual page
defining the entity. This command requires xdvi
                    to be installed.
* part[123].aux are auxiliary files for the mantalk command.

We recommend that you read:

* white-paper.dvi to get an overview of Talk.
* config.{unix,win32}.dvi to learn the requirements for running Talk
  on your system.
* The foreword in part1.dvi (pp. 5-9) to guide you through the
  documentation set.

The .dvi and .ps files have identical contents. The .ps files are
compressed using "gzip". Please use "gunzip" to uncompress them.
"gunzip" is part of the "gzip" package, which can be found at
ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu and its mirror sites.

You can find viewers for the .dvi files ("xdvi" on Unix) at any site
listed in ftp://ftp.dante.de/tex-archive/CTAN.sites. To view the .ps
(postscript) files, you can use "ghostview", available from
ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu and its mirror sites as well.

You can print out the documentation using the Unix command "lpr -d"
for the .dvi files or "lpr" for the postscript files. The full set is
approximately 600 pages long.

Printed copies of the ILOG Talk reference manuals can be ordered at
<info@ilog.fr> (approx. US$ 150, amount may change).
